Abstract

Dry mouth is a condition that occurs when a person exercises or does any strenuous physical activity which can have ill effects on dental hygiene and can in turn, affect the physical health of a person. A survey of 15 questions was sent to 107 participants through Google Forms and the participants were asked to complete the survey online. This survey was conducted over the course of the week, with the first response being recorded on 28 April 2020 and the final response being recorded on 4 May 2020. The data of the survey was compiled and it was found that the general awareness about the mouth dryness during exercises was low, although they experienced this on a regular basis. There is low awareness on this topic of dry mouth during exercises, it’s effects and it’s potential risks on oral health are also largely unknown because this condition is often ignored and further research is needed to bring more information about this topic to light.
