Abstract

This research is about studying religious beliefs and representations in ancient Iranian sculpture. It is devoted to explaining the problem of research by identifying the merits of artistic achievement in the field of ancient Iranian sculpture, and the artistic formation that is subject to its impact to various factors that led to its achievement according to visions And certain horizons, which asked a question about identifying that achievement, which was what the religious belief represented in ancient Iranian sculpture? In addition to the importance and need for research, and the aim of the research is to highlight the importance of the concept of religious belief as a conceptual structure in ancient Iranian sculptures, which constitutes a new reading of the sculptural texts dating back to this historical period. As for the need forresearch, it lies in the possibility of benefiting researchers in art, because it represents an  artistic and aesthetic study in ancient Iranian sculpture. The limits of the research are reduced to studying the ancient sculpture of the country of study (Iran).
