A Study on Occupational Stress among Elementary School Teachers

Abstract

This study investigates level of occupational stress among teachers working in elementary schools. The descriptive research study methodis used. By applying the stratified random sampling techniques, sixty elementary school teachers of Jorhat district served as sample for the study. Teacher‟s occupational stress scale by Sharma and Kour has been used in this study. The collected data are analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques as mean, percentage and„t‟-test. The results show that the level of stress among teachers is average in nature. Andit also found that there is no significant differences between the male and female teachers.
