Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the issue on socio-demographic factors and student’s entrepreneurial intention. Sample size of 360 students was drawn from a polytechnic in Perlis. This study addressed two socio-demographic factors which are student’s gender and their family monthly income. The personal backgrounds of students were presented in the descriptive analysis. The association between demographic factors and entrepreneurial intentions among polytechnic students were examined using cross tabulation and chi-square test. The chi-square test result indicated that, there was no association between gender and students’ entrepreneurial intentions (p=0.766). In addition, the chi-square test result also indicated that that there was no statistically significant association between family’s monthly incomes levels and students’ entrepreneurial intentions (Chi-square with four degree of freedom = 6.490. p = 0.165). This study has extended the knowledge on the association between socio-demographic factors and student’s entrepreneurial intention among students in the perspective of polytechnic.
