THE INTER-RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ‘JUVENILE PSYCHOPATHY’ AND ‘HEINOUS CRIME’: ANALYZING INDIAN JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM
Abstract
This study deals with the problem of juvenile psychopathy and its interrelation with the
‘heinous offence’ within the purview of the Indian Juvenile Justice system. As we could see
there are two concepts, namely ‘juvenile’ and ‘psychopathy’ which requires to be explained
and discussed thoroughly before linking it to ‘heinous offence’ and ‘The Indian Juvenile
Justice system’. There is no legal definition of psychopathy, but much work has been
conducted by researchers on the concept’s defining characteristics.1
