STUDENTS ACCEPTANCE FOR INNOVATIVE AND PARTICIPATIVE TEACHING- LEARNING TECHNIQUES IN SECONDARY EDUCATION – AN EMPIRICAL STUDY

Abstract

This paper studies the several innovative and participative techniques adopted by the education system to make the learners aware of these methods and how they accept it. These methods are adopted to develop the learning process from a passive learning to active learning system, from the traditional classroom to a technology based classroom. The student’s ability to accept these methods vary from person to person. The main motive of the school administration is to train the students professionally so that they can achieve their goals and have a better future. This professional system of teaching will assist the learners in their jobs and to face their interview. The shyness, hindrance to approach people will be overcome. The improvised research skills becomes dynamic gradually that it will build their self- confidence and of course knowledge. Getting restricted within the course curriculum restricts the student from accepting further knowledge. Also, the innovative teaching method includes innovative assessment to attract students and create less pressure on them. This is done keeping in mind that learners get inculcated with studies without any pressure and depression. The purpose of this study is to know the difference in the levels of technology acceptance among gender, years of teaching experience and "Education system Needs Change". A sample of 234 respondents was considered and a structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. It is found that that there is a significant difference in the Level of Technology Acceptance between male and female. The study also revealed that there is a significant difference in the Level of Technology Acceptance and years of teaching experience and it is also found there is no significant difference in the Level of Technology Acceptance and "Education system Needs Change".
