Abstract

This study investigate the impact of divergent thinking( DT) on the performance of 3rd
intermediate students in Story time Activity. It is limited to the intermediate students in Iraq
during the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020 those who study story time activity
in their syllabus. To obtain this aim, it has been hypothesized that there is no differences
between the mean score of the performance of the 1st group who would be given with DT and
the 2nd group who has not exposéd to DT technique. A sample of (74) students from Anah
intermediate school have been randomly selected and distributed into two groups: the
experimental one (38 ) and the control group (36 ). The instrument has been a post test make
by the researcher to check students’ performance in story time activity. The statistical devices
have been used by the researcher to treat the obtained data. The findings have revealed that
there is a clear difference between the means of the two groups in favour of the experimental
group because the means is higher than that of the control one. At the end, the researcher has
drawn some conclusions based on the findings and put his recommendations.
