Abstract

Agriculture Sector is contributing 16.5% (Economic survey 2019-20) to the GDP of the country and it has enclosed more than 50% of workforces (Economic survey 2019-20) who are still engaged in agriculture and allied activities. Though higher workforce is involved, they are not self-reliable to earn their livelihood andis indispensable to rethink about the shift of agricultural sector. In this situation, the concept emerged was Agri entrepreneurship or farm entrepreneurship, which apparently benefits the small-scale farmers to be self-reliable and independent. The National Institute for Management of Agricultural Extension (MANAGE)has classified 32activities(2020) of agribusiness all over India covering Agri clinics, horticulture, floriculture, dairy farms, poultry etc. Several research works are undertaken to identifythe opportunities and challenges of agribusiness and also coming up with suggestive measures to encourage and develop Agripreneurship in India. The present paper in this backdrop makes an attempt to review few such works undertaken during the last two decades with the presentationof majorobservations/findings.
