Abstract

In this article I examine growth of Per Capita Income and Net State Domestic Product from (1980-81 to 2019-20) for 23 major states of India. This paper analyzed the growth of different sectors across the states of India. The convergence and divergence of PCY, NSDP and Share of the different sectors (Agriculture, Industry and Service sector) is also examined. The result of my study is based upon secondary data on a common base year. My results show that there is strong divergence of agriculture and service sector among all the states. Per capita income of one state is different from another state due to various reasons like every state having different resources and factor endowment, different government policies, and density of population, etc.
