EFFECT OF STACKING QUANTITY AND UNSTICK METHOD ON FLATNESS EFFICIENCY: OPTIMIZING AND UTILIZING USING TAGUCHI METHOD
Abstract
Understanding the effect of stacking quantity and unstick method on flatness efficiency is the central focus of this study. This research employed the Taguchi Method approaches in the disk manufacturing, where an actual production shop-floor performance was analysed using Taguchi Method. Consequently, alternative solution to improve the product quality focusing on flatness, efficiency and to enhance the performance of the manufacturing system are proposed. The scope of this study focused on flatness improvement in blank level through a methodology based on the Taguchi design in achieving the research objectives. The data was collected through exhaustive literature review primarily from previous studies in the same company together with other literature resources as additional input into the newly collected data from the improvement which done by supplier. Based on the data collected, the experiment was conducted using the Orthogonal Array design to find the optimum solution of the problem. The analysis was performed to identify the best combination of parameters and factors in order to achieve the research objectives.
