A STUDY ON ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (EFL) LEARNERS’ REFLECTIONS ON LANGUAGE LEARNING STRATEGIES
Abstract
The present research explores English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ reflections on their Language Learning Strategies through a quantitative survey. The information is collected through a questionnaire based on Strategy Inventory Language Learning (SILL) by Rebecca Oxford (1990) taking three main language learning strategies into consideration namely; Memory, Cognitive and Meta-cognitive strategies. The participants are EFL students enrolled in the English Program at College of Arts & Sciences for Girls in Saudi Arabia. The findings of the study reveal that; Memory, Cognitive and Meta-cognitive strategies have a positive impact on learner in learning EFL
